Technology Readiness Level (TRL)

Project activities are planned to cover a TRL range between 4 and 6. The present industry driven project is clearly located in the spectrum of “technology demonstrated in relevant environment”. The three integrated pilots represent the innovative strategic solution proposed in INTMET and they are currently situated in TRL 4, validated at laboratory scale and, in any case, TRL 5 demonstrated with another different materials. INTMET will develop mini-pilots for its demonstration in innovative leaching (atmospheric, pressure and bioleaching), one innovative efficient energy anodes to the extraction and purification of main metals and three technologies for other minor value metal recovery (chloride media, TETA and MSA), increasing their technology readiness levels to 6 and paving the way for economic and environmental feasibility and for subsequent market replication and commercialization.
